Indications and Control Commands

For specific applications, it may be necessary to expand the capacity of the base units within the SAE FW-5 product family according to operational requirements.

Depending on the selected type and configuration, up to 12 expansion modules can be connected to a single RTU (Remote Terminal Unit), enabling the system to be scaled according to the required number of indications and control commands.

Based on the required functionality, the appropriate expansion module can be selected to expand the RTU configuration while maintaining efficient and reliable operation.

Connection of Expansion Modules

The TBUS connector provides communication with the base unit while simultaneously supplying power to most expansion modules. This simplifies the installation process and enables convenient integration of extension modules within the RTU system.

If the power supply provided by the base unit is insufficient, the PWR-1 module supplies an additional 2.8 A auxiliary power source for connected expansion modules.

The TBUS Remote I/O Extension also enables the integration of expansion modules in remote island installations with their own independent power supply, allowing distributed I/O expansion beyond the central installation.
