SOFREL YDRIX RTUs are designed to meet the needs of operators and local authorities managing water networks. They combine integrated 4G communication, cybersecurity, and automation in a single device.
Equipped with 6 digital inputs (DI), 2 analog inputs (AI), 4 digital outputs (DO), and RS485/RS485i and RS232 serial communication ports, the RTUs can be extended with I/O modules. SOFREL YDRIX easily connects to pumps, valves, sensors, and Modbus devices commonly found in water installations.
SOFREL YDRIX is fully modular, offers dedicated “Water Activity” functional blocks, and adapts to installations of any type or size.

A full automation workbench and extensive “Water Activity” function block library
Automation processes are created in an integrated automation workbench inside SOFREL YDRIX. The powerful editor, compliant with IEC 61131-3, supports standard languages such as ST, Ladder, FBD, and SFC (Grafcet).
SOFREL YDRIX features a comprehensive library of sector-specific function blocks (volume and flow calculations, PID control, etc.).
For wastewater lift stations in particular, the software includes all necessary functions for pump control and optimization. Automation specialists benefit from a complete suite of tools including simulation, online debugging, and testing features—usable both remotely and on-site.
Secure communication with standard SCADA systems
DNP3, IEC-60870-5-104 & IEC-60870-5-101 protocols ensure seamless integration with any SCADA system.
SOFREL YDRIX ensures interoperability with TCP/IP networks and operators’ SCADA systems through these industry-standard protocols. It integrates smoothly into existing remote management infrastructures and guarantees secure communication with authorized industrial platforms.
Full IP & redundant communication support
YDRIX RTUs are full IP devices and communicate with the control center via 2G/3G/4G modems or Ethernet connections.
These multiple supports allow redundancy: if the main telecom network fails, SOFREL YDRIX automatically switches to the backup medium and reverts once the primary network is restored. This ensures operators never lose data and always maintain real-time network visibility.
Fully cybersecure, SOFREL YDRIX supports VPN server protocols that guarantee infrastructure protection. Both RTUs and SCADA systems are authenticated and certified. All data exchanged is encrypted.
M2M communication with SOFREL LS/LT data loggers
SOFREL LS and LT data loggers installed in remote areas of the network (reservoirs, meter pits, pressure monitoring points, etc.) can communicate with a YDRIX RTU remotely.
Triggered by threshold exceedance or periodically, the loggers send essential data to YDRIX. The RTU can then manage tank levels according to network demand and electricity pricing periods. It also allows remote regulation of pressure in the distribution network.
