Water quality control involves a series of ongoing activities that allow network operators to ensure that water intended for human consumption meets current regulatory standards. Quality control is a strategic process of assessment and monitoring. It must not only verify water quality but also provide the information needed to implement immediate or medium-term corrective measures to ensure quality is maintained.
The objective is to provide the network manager and health authority with information on the organoleptic and microbiological quality of drinking water, as well as the effectiveness of the water treatment process. Current regulations are based on European Directives 98/93/EC and 2015/1787.

Continuous Monitoring of Free Chlorine
Free residual chlorine is the most commonly used substance for disinfecting water. Monitoring its levels in the network is essential to ensure water quality. This substance can be monitored daily using a continuous monitoring device. The SOFREL Chlorine solution tracks chlorine trends over time and acts as an alert station in the event of deviation. This device allows significant savings in the time operators spend on-site and in operational effort, while providing much deeper continuous monitoring.
Any failure in re-chlorination is identified, allowing actions to be taken to minimize impact on the population. This reduces the time and number of staff required to respond to the event.
Monitoring Conductivity
Measuring water quality is essential for identifying intrusion points in the supply network. Conductivity measurement in particular allows early detection, saving network and laboratory staff from spending days locating the entry point.
