Correct water distribution network management is a delicate operation for any water operator. Maintaining optimum pressure at all points of the network, offering satisfactory quality of service for water users, preserving time-weakened pipes and spurs against pressure spikes, are difficult duties to reconcile.
The SOFREL Data Loggers offer effective solutions for meeting all of these challenges of pressure regulation valve management.

Play with pressure to protect your network and reduce water losses
SOFREL data loggers efficiently manage pressure and control regulation valves, thereby reducing water losses in the network. A simple solution to preserve resources and optimize installations.

Smart control of pressure sensors
SOFREL data loggers, depending on the model, feature 1 or 2 analog inputs (AI) or a Modbus communication port for continuous pressure monitoring on water pipelines.
Their analog inputs are compatible with all 4-20 mA sensors available on the market. The data logger is responsible for powering and controlling the sensor at predefined intervals. In case of an alarm threshold being exceeded, it can increase the recording frequency to refine pressure analysis.

Dynamic pressure and pressure regulation valve management
Certain SOFREL data logger models can intelligently modulate pressure by controlling a two-stage regulation valve according to demand. By lowering the pressure during periods of low water demand, the data logger acts immediately on diffuse leak flow. Water losses are automatically reduced thanks to the action of SOFREL data loggers.
This advanced pressure management enables SOFREL Data Loggers to perform many tasks:
- Ensuring correct reduction, stabiliser and controller operation.
- Measuring quality of service levels.
- Optimising network pressure according to time period, flow rate or pressure.
- Varying balanced tank levels.
- Performing sanitary purges
- Network unravelling
