Thanks to the daily analysis of nighttime flows, Eau du Bassin Rennais quickly detects anomalies, ensuring a more sustainable and proactive management.
Installed solutions
Eau du Bassin Rennais has equipped itself with LS-Flow data loggers from LACROIX SOFREL to mesh the drinking water distribution network and automatically collect essential operational data: average, maximum, and nighttime flow calculations…
The daily analysis of sectorization balances helps detect leaks by identifying inconsistencies in the volumes of water distributed at night.
This refers to the number of solutions installed on the drinking water distribution network of Eau du Bassin Rennais.

Measurement of energy savings and avoided GHG emissions thanks to LACROIX intelligent management solutions.
Considering the entire life cycle, the net impact of the data loggers is very positive: 5.9% of the volume of potable water distributed is saved through early detection of detectable leaks.
- The measured environmental benefits are between 30 times (GHG emissions) and 200 times (energy) greater than their footprint.
- In addition to this positive impact, there are benefits related to potable water treatment reagents, whose impact is reduced by 43% (energy) to 55% (water).
- Installation & maintenance account for 50% of the carbon footprint of the data loggers, highlighting the importance of choosing installers (distance, thermal vs electric vehicles, etc.).
- A savings of €270,000 per year is achieved through remote management compared to a poorly sectorized and non-telemanaged network.
Our water resource is very precious, and we, as water managers, must integrate all technologies that help improve leak detection, such as remote management. By quantifying the losses in an operation that is not focused on leak detection, this project validates the proactive policy of Eau du Bassin Rennais in protecting the resource.
